Online Tax Returns

"I wanted to write in and comment on filing your tax return online. I consider myself an average middle-aged American. You know, house, two cars, a dog and one and a half kid. Never understood where they got that half kid thing from. Anyway, tax time has always been a terrible time for us. We are never prepared. We can never find last year’s tax return let alone our receipts.

Most of the time we go down and pay someone named “Block” to do our tax return. This was also stressful. We rarely had the money to pay the high price they want to prepare your tax return. Every year the price gets higher and higher. It also never fails that when I walk in to do my taxes I always get some young pimply headed kid who does not look old enough to file taxes let alone prepare them.

Well, this year I was determined to do something different. So I dusted off the computer and began to see if online tax preparation was any better. To my surprise I found that there were a great number of places where I could file my taxes online. I selected a website and looked it over. I read the help and question section first. I found that they had done all the research of this year’s tax code and that filing my tax’s online would be straight forward and easy.

I took a day to think about it. After sleeping on it I decided to give online tax preparation a try. I fired up the computer with my W2’s in hand. Before I knew it I was done. I simply filled in my information and answered a few questions and that was it. They even filed my tax return electronically right then and there. I did not even need a stamp.

The site promised that I would have my tax refund sooner by filing online. It makes sense since it does not have to go through the mail and be sorted and everything. I should have my refund in a couple of weeks. I just thought some of the other average Americans might benefit from how easy I found it to do my taxes online. Good Luck!" - Willard Steinberg
